Pause

My sweet rose bush, bathed in the sun's new light.

Clouds moving, changing, aglow with red & sky.

"The principle of art is to pause, not bypass."
~ Jerzy Kosinski

Welcome, my friend. Here is my invitation, inspired by what I've learned from watching the sunrise and nurturing the blossoms in my garden: Come, open your heart, and engage with life at a deeper level. Immerse yourself in what surrounds you, be open to surprises, and create your own creative impact.

Slow down. Allow the symphony of life to serenade you, playing its harmonious melody with unwavering grace. Dance with the sun, spreading golden magic everywhere. Let the intoxicating fragrances of flowers fill your heart, awakening your senses, and unveiling new perspectives. You are a vital part of what is unfolding!

Pause. Take five. Are Paul Desmond's sax notes rustling the leaves? Are those diamonds or tears on the new buds? Can you trust and discover the abundant joy that eagerly awaits you?

Joy is there, I promise.

In this precious pause, delve into the depths of your innermost soul. As Ralph Waldo Emerson eloquently expressed, "Pretty is something you're born with. But beautiful, that's an equal opportunity adjective." True beauty encompasses qualities such as kindness and compassion, which can be nurtured and honed by anyone.

For it is within the stillness of this very moment that countless opportunities arise—opportunities to experience, to find inspiration, and to revel in the sheer marvel of existence. With each passing moment, cultivate a profound, humming, and vibrant garden of interconnectedness, where you can root yourself, entwined with the earth, the sky, and the souls of others.

So, dear friend, take this invitation and embark on your journey of mindful appreciation. Embrace the grandeur and delicacy of the world, and lovingly cultivate the ever-expanding garden of your own existence!

The Glory of Friendship

"The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand,
nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship;
it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one
when you discover that someone else believes in you
and is willing to trust you with a friendship."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Cleaning the area around my rose bush in the front, waiting for the sun to rise. With all the rain and sunshine lately, I have work to do, but the work is satisfying.

I am thinking of my classmate Susi who lives in Washington State. She is my gardening mentor. Her plant knowledge and landscaping abilities are remarkable. She works hard, yet still finds time to believe in me. Often when some plant in the garden delights me, I send a thought of gratitude westward to her.

People who help us, who inspire us, change our lives forever. And if we are lucky, they remain life-long friends.

Chant the Beauty

"Don't waste yourself in rejection,
nor bark against the bad,
but chant the beauty of the good."

All Opportunities

"The world is all gates, all opportunities
strings of tension waiting to be struck."

God

"God enters by a private door into every individual."

Sitting here in the cool air.
The horizon, pink, lavender.
Listening to birds, dogs, roosters.
Good morning world. (Photo)

Mist & light.
Right here, right now.
A harmony of birds serenade.
Cool joy. (Photo)

Simple, thin fog.
Settling a bit, playing.
Waiting.
Absolute miracle in simplicity.

& then the sun just comes, a big red orb,
No fan fare
Just some soft rise
And settles in the horizon,

Lazy like an old friend.

And I look at that tree, reaching toward it and think, that is how I feel.

Imagination

"There are no days in life so memorable
as those which vibrate
to some stroke of the imagination."

Again. Waiting for the sun. Photo...

Well that cresting sun looks like a nipple on the breast of that reclining mountain.

Made Of Hidden Stuff

"Everything in Nature
contains all the powers of Nature.
Everything is made of hidden stuff."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

My morning recap as I wait for the sunrise... North Carolina had the Pisgah Forest fire near where my morning sun crests. The fire started at 5:30 pm and continued into the night...The raging fire grew relentlessly and provided a dynamic visual display. The sky was lit with lots of high drama for a while.

This morning, it looks like the fire is extinguished.

Firefighters are heroes... I am waiting to see the damage at dawn...

My morning view is lovely. No visible sign of damage from the fire. As you can see, we are still all green, alive with Spring!!!

Heartily

"No man ever prayed heartily without learning something."

Thunder, rain (am totally soaked), sunrise... & God. What a morning...

Some people have an altar, others a church. Every morning I have this, where I say my prayers: Photo.

Secret is Patience

"Adopt the pace of Nature; her secret is patience."
~
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Clear toward Asheville... Great white Clouds churning & rising like smoke... but think it's too gray here for a sunrise. :(

Red cardinal, perched on nearby bare branch, waits for sun to rise through sky of cold clouds. Scarlett on gray...
And just when you're ready to give up... the sun breaks through...
Don't ever give up.
