Appreciation

"Nine-tenths of wisdom is appreciation. Go find somebody's hand and squeeze it... while there is still time."

 ~ Dale Dauten

Harvesting Thyme
Asheville awakes. Clarity this good morning as the colors of dawn radiate. (Photo)...

The birds are singing and there's a woodpecker, insistently hammering away with dedicated persistence.

While I say my prayers and wait for the sun, I am harvesting thyme. It is a perfect combo.

The bees have been having a thyme convention on my steps and the colors are magnificent purple and greens.

This morning, all my prayers are prayers of gratitude... And love.
My garden perch

My heart is full up with sunrise. Spilling over, out my eyes.

Enjoy

"Enjoy what you have."
 ~ David Niven

Clouds, no sunrise. Still my prayers rise up to the sky.  (Photo)

Someone heard me. The clouds moved and I have a sunrise. A spectacular one. (Photo)

Miracles

"Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see."
 ~ C.S. Lewis

Out the door. Wave at me. Say hi. I'm the one with the pink helmet that says "aloha."

An Appendage

"Put your camera around your neck along with putting on your shoes, and there it is, an appendage of the body that shares your life with you."
~ Dorothea Lange

Yes, it seems my camera is always around my neck, a happy appendage now...

Courage

My sun through the iris plants
My ivy and thyme kiss along the stone steps

"Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway."

(It is John Wayne's birthday today. He was my Daddy's favorite actor. Recently while playing Words With Friends with my baby brother in Hawaii, we messaged dialogue to each other from the Duke's film Big Jake. But I digress...)

We begin anew. Photo.

No need to forget yesterday. We live in the present. And look at what we got to work with... Photo.

Downloading my sunrise photos feels like opening Christmas presents... EVERY day.

God

"God enters by a private door into every individual."

Sitting here in the cool air.
The horizon, pink, lavender.
Listening to birds, dogs, roosters.
Good morning world. (Photo)

Mist & light.
Right here, right now.
A harmony of birds serenade.
Cool joy. (Photo)

Simple, thin fog.
Settling a bit, playing.
Waiting.
Absolute miracle in simplicity.

& then the sun just comes, a big red orb,
No fan fare
Just some soft rise
And settles in the horizon,

Lazy like an old friend.

And I look at that tree, reaching toward it and think, that is how I feel.

No Limits

"IF you look up, there are no limits." ~ Japanese Proverb

Love
Kayla's Lily
This early morning sky is so beautiful. Easy to get lost in the changing ribbons of color & light. Morning aloha! Photo
...My heart glows in colors of orange and gold this morning. Everywhere I look, a miracle...

Pillow Message
Love flourishes and multiplies... I did write about Kayla's Lily in more detail here...  on WELLWORLD:

...Look again, find a creative angle. There is always one there for you. Use your heart.

Peace

Spellbinding, this sun, this morning. Full of sunrise and mist...

"Peace is always beautiful."

Rooster sounds float with chilly fog. All aloha in my heart. My morning prayers are again for peace. (Photo) ...Watching the fog rise and tickle the sloping mountain. Imagine. (Photo) ...In the still beauty, watching spellbound, there is only peace.

Shimmer

Kolo, no longer blind, watches.
Not necessarily the sunrise
Absolutely breath-taking dawn w/ streams of new color and the magic crescent moon. (Photo...Colors of morning. (Photo) ...Red sun, rising softly. (Photo)
Fill your heart with all the fresh creativity this new morning brings. Everywhere...

"You take the pen, and the lines dance.
You take the flute and the notes shimmer.
You take the brush, and the
colors sing.
So all things have meaning
 and
beauty in that space
beyond time where you are.
How, then,
can I hold back anything from you?"

Eternity

Waiting for the sun to rise. Listening to Hendrix. "can you see me? Hey hey" (Photo)...Oh the sun is rising gloriously as I write this. Wowie. Have Mozart in my ears. MP3 shuffle
This camera can't capture all this beauty. Saucer moon overhead... & this blazing sun, all golden hope and healing. Can't zoom in close enough. Would like to just fit into the gold...Hendrix to Mozart to Beatles. & the flagrantly perfect sun...
Even a momentary cloud break is gorgeous. You cannot hide forever. (Photo)
"Lay your money and you play your part..." am surfing on the sun's rays. Which is blazing bright, free of shackled clouds...(BTW, how about that bass line on Zeppelin's "Ramble On?" Highly recommend it with coffee & the sunrise. ) :)

"He who binds to himself a joy
 Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sunrise."
~ William Blake

All That Matters

"Tell the truth. Sing with passion.
Work with laughter.
 Love with heart
'Cause that's all that matters
 in the end."

Innocence

"Innocence always follows her own light."
~ Latin Proverb

Had to wait for the sun to rise from the fog & through the clouds. It did not disappoint me...

Courage

Dawn's fire

"Take chances, make mistakes.

 That's how you grow.

 Pain nourishes your courage.

You have to fail in order
to practice being brave."

Gold

I viewed the full moon last night from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

It was spell-binding, dancing through the clouds. And so bright it blazed. I watched it all the way home.

"Genius is the gold in the mine;
talent is the miner
that works and brings it out."

Burn

"When you do something,
 you should burn yourself
 completely,
 like a good bonfire,

leaving no trace of yourself."

Sunset on the Harley

Moved
by life's
contradictions.

pale quiet peaceful
night seeps
rocking blue
sweeping curves.

cut to awakening
obligations rage
surging jangle
electric
burning
vapors
oxidation

now.
