Find Your Subject

"You don't find your subject, it finds you."
~ Andrew Motion

So beautiful outside this morning, I am waiting out back for the sunrise. A slight turn to the right, and here is the moon out front, tangled like a beacon in the trees. I am leaning into the moon with delight.

Look closely. Watching the jets. I count five trails, taking off from Asheville airport, white lines in the clear blue sky.

What He Carries In His Heart

“A man sees in the world
what he carries in his heart.”
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faust

This morning I got this above shot walking Kolo in the sunrise. As usual, she is camera shy. (She learned that from Clapton, turning her head when I point the camera at her.)

Back home after a week on the road. Traveled over 1200 miles by car and heart. Visited Atlanta, Memphis, Little Rock, and Nashville. I had a wonderful time, but it is good to be home.

Shade and Perspective

"There is nothing ugly;
I never saw an ugly thing in my life:
for let the form of an object be what it may light,
shade and perspective will always make it beautiful."
~ John Constable

Life brings ugliness, but I never think "ugly" when I look up at the morning sky.

It is true, if you look for the light, shade, and perspective, no object will be ugly.

A Song A Day

Happy Birthday Susi!
"A song a day keeps the blues away."
~ Edward Hays

This morning I listened to music as I prayed. You can't feel blue for long, listening to music and watching the sky.

The morning sky is surreal in its colors and light. Thank you for this morning and this opportunity to share this morning. I am so grateful for this sky, this life.
