Surprise


"Poetry should surprise by a fine excess, 
and not by singularity; 
it should strike the reader 
as a wording of his own highest thoughts
and appear almost a remembrance."





My home and cove below are drenched in fog right now, with very little visibility. But for a breath of a second, a flash of magic and wonder, I had this gift of color and light. Surprise and delight...
