The Best

"It is a funny thing about life;
if you refuse to accept anything but the best
you very often get it."
W. Somerset Maugham

Here I live, atop my blessed Harmony Ridge, my own Walden Pond, The Best place in the world. That special place where I can connect with my higher self.

Each morning, waiting for the sun to rise, I say my prayers, reflect, and center myself. Secluded, protected, at peace. Alive. Usually the rest of my world is fast asleep as I touch the sky with my heart.

Clear Perception
Atop this ridge
I am the rays of the sun
And the gentle mist
kissing
the sloping wonder.

How do I tell you how full my heart is?

In Nature's beauty
Helps calm perception
to come.
