Joys Perpetual

a way of making joys perpetual."

God Beings

"We sometimes forget that we are God beings,
and that the intent of the Creator
was for us to enjoy this thing called Life!"
~ Louise L. Hay

A beautiful, still morning with this gift -- the sunrise through my rosebush. Certainly, a delight to capture and share with you.

With Someone We Love

"Can miles truly separate us from friends
If we want to be with someone we love
aren't we already there?"
 ~ Richard Bach

We bought a house with a dream view in August 2005, where the sun rises across a ridge, spilling light into a perfect cove. I have discovered that each morning sky is different. The dawn, as it unfurls, lights my heart and raises my spirit.

Watching the daily sunrise has changed my life. I am able to look at my life with renewable delight. Problems come, but they can be solved, they are solved. I believe opportunities are as wide and deep as the horizon. This deep connection to Nature has helped me to better understand myself, understand others. If you look at life with love, everything becomes love.

I have learned that change happens when you live the change. Believe in yourself. Commit to what you want to change and everything will fall into place.

Your Best Wishes

"Keep your best wishes
close to your heart
and watch what happens.”
~ Tony DeLiso

The weeds are winning in my top garden, but I am pulling them in the cool morning, waiting for the sunrise. This is my view as I sit on the ground, weeding, praying, and planning my day.

I have absolutely no complaints.

The Supermoon welcomes the sunrise as well

Excellent Brightness

"Grace comes into the soul
as the morning sun into the world:
first a dawning, then a light
and at last the sun in his full
and excellent brightness."
~ Thomas Adams

Last night's Supermoon which did not seem bigger, but was sure bright...

Talk To The Clouds

"You must not blame me
if I do talk to the clouds."

To beat the Saturday Asheville crowds, I drove to the supermarket early to stock up for the weekend. The air was cool, with some fog. My ten-minute ride from the house was beautiful. With little traffic, I took my time and looked deeply at the scenery and animals I passed, the stunning visuals. Crows, wild rabbits, deer, and the spectacular clouds, mountains, and trees.

How often am I in a rush and fail to notice all this beauty around me?

Sonic Drive Inn and the clock tower left standing after demolition of the American Enka Plant
A wisp of fog clung to the brick clock tower, which seemed to evoke the past, those things gone. The red plastic Sonic facade is a snapshot of today. And the tree and sky? Well, that is a timeless forever.

Four air balloons were out, but here is one, above a home in Candler, North Carolina
From this vantage point, the rural setting is as beautiful as the flight. I followed the balloon in my car for awhile, then pulled over and took this photo. The air was quiet, except for the roar of the balloon burner. I sat and watched the azure sky. And yes, I talked to the clouds with delight.

Gravitational Pull

"Words are like planets,
each with its own gravitational pull."
 ~ Kenneth Burke

I write my love letters in the early morning. My heart seeps light on the page like the waking dawn.

9.57 am Added some blue to the sun and fog. It is a quiet blue kind of day.

I Celebrate

6:38 AM Happy Birthday, Mom
I did this poem on the photo of my hand reaching to the sun as part of Carol Varsalona's Virtual Gallery-Summer Serenity. It was after I took the photo that I realized you can see my mother's Hawaiian bracelet ("Genevieve") and my "aloha" bracelet on my right wrist. I could not have planned it any better than that.

The sunlight is very bright.

Slumbering Powers

"Deep within humans dwells those slumbering powers
powers that would astonish them
that they never dreamed of possessing,
forces that would revolutionize their lives
if aroused and put into action."
 ~ Orison Swett Marden

No Boundaries

"Love, having no geography,
knows no boundaries."
Other Voices, Other Rooms

The sky opens wide and goes on forever. Some mornings I look to the ridge and the  colors developing fuel my imagination.

We Must Be Free

"We must be free not because we claim freedom
but because we practice it."

Happy 4th of July. Declare your independence.

Create your art and share it with the world.

6:36 AM

Notice how this light moves across the photograph. So, too, your light will extend and extend once you set it to motion.

America's independence day is the perfect time to reflect on what your personal creativity really is. Celebrate freedom and the power of the human spirit ♥

Opposite Direction

"There are some things one can only achieve
by a deliberate leap in the opposite direction.
One has to go abroad in order to
find the home one has lost."
~ Franz Kafka

Energy Is the Power

"Energy is the power that drives every human being.
It is not lost by exertion but maintained by it."
