Chilly on the deck this misty morning. Lots of flat gray clouds across horizon. Here comes the sun! ...Sun is red again. Only a sliver of it through the clouds...A sighing glimpse, only. Seconds matter... Now sun is swallowed up, gone.

Clouds are thick where sun will be. Brilliant, fluffy white cotton. Can light break through this density?

Birds are flying, chirping. Dozens, from all directions...Oh man. Mist covers me. I can see orange outline above cloud quilt. Color washes above...Orange fire. Clouds glow. Spectacular.

Show yourself. Why doesn't this holy light blow forth the clouds? There you are, my beauty.

Fog in valley, but my horizon is clear. Should be exceptional sunrise today. Very excited...When fog entrenches valley, I imagine, just for a few moments, that I'm gazing at Kaneohe Bay. Ahh, fantasy...We moved from Kaimuki to Kaneohe when I was 8. Emerging from tunnel to windward side is like rebirth.
